Recently, the leading integrated telecommunications service providers -Oman telecommunications joins a union composed of several east African telecoms providers, to lay the submarine cable between gulf and Africa (G2A) laying. This submarine optical cable will completely realize interconnection of Oman to East Africa.
G2A submarine cable reflects the first step of Oman telecommunications’ eastward expansion into the continent with providing a cable connection of the Middle East, Asia and Europe, and will make Oman converted into the communication hub in the Middle East.
G2A submarine cable construction system planned to be completed by the end of 2016, consists of 1500 km submarine cable and 1500 km ground cable.
