Bare conductor ACSR, also known as Aluminum Conductors Steel Reinforced(ACSR).
Aluminum Conductors and Steel Reinforced(ACSR) are used as overhead power lines, transmission lines, and distribution lines.
As the name implies, ACSR is a concentrically stranded conductor composed of one or more layers of hard-drawn EC-grade Aluminum Wires over a high-strength coated steel core.
The core may be single wire or stranded, depending on the size.
Because of the numerous stranding combinations of aluminum and steel wires that may be used, it is possible to vary the portions of aluminum and steel so as to obtain the most suitable relation between current carrying capacity and mechanical strength for each application.
ACSR has long been widely used as overhead high-tension transmission lines and has an established reputation for economy and dependability.

The structure of ACSR cable is one of the very simple ones among many cables.
ACSR power cables are concentrically stranded conductors with one or more layers of hard-drawn 1350-H16 aluminum wire on a galvanized steel wire core.
Depending on the size, the core can be single or stranded.
The steel wire can be A or B-grade galvanized as a corrosion protection treatment.
ACSR overhead aluminum power cables are designed to meet the electrical and mechanical strength requirements of transmission or distribution cables.
Appropriate designs can be provided in combination with the number of aluminum wires and galvanized steel wires.
The outer strand is high-purity aluminum.
It is chosen because it has good electrical conductivity, is lightweight, low cost, has corrosion resistance, and has good mechanical stress.
The intermediate wire is steel-stranded wire.
It is chosen for its added strength and to help support the weight of the conductor.

This is due to the fact that steel is stronger than aluminum, so it increases the mechanical tension of the conductor.
Also, steel has a lower suitable elastic and inelastic deformation
Steel has these properties because of the mechanical load and the lower coefficient of thermal expansion under the current load.
These characteristics make ACSR sag much less than all aluminum conductors.
Another reason is the low carbon content of the steel.
Therefore the steel has high weldability.
This facilitates the need for steel to be used in many parts of machine components and manufacturing industries after machining or during assembly and is their first choice.

● The current ratings of ACSR conductors are generally available in low and medium voltage and high voltage.

This should be equal to or greater than the continuous current requirement of the transmission line.
A voltage level of the transmission line
The general practice is to use conductors of a specific voltage level.
For example, ACSR Panther conductors can be used for 66 kV or 132 kV transmission lines.

PACKAGING
The packaging of ZMS cables is provided in wooden rolls, corrugated cartons, and reels.
