LV power cables are commonly used in power systems with a voltage of 0.6/1kV.
The construction generally is PVC insulated and sheathed, XLPE insulated and PVC sheathed with Cu or Aluminum conductor, armor or unarmored.
It can be distinguished into LV 1C power cable, LV 2C power cable, LV 3C power cable, LV 4C power cable, LV 5C power cable, LV 3C+1C power cable, LV 4C+1C power cable, LV 3C+2C power cable by core numbers.
The LV 3C+2C power cables and LV 4C+1C Power cables are mainly used for long-run electric devices.
The 0.6/1kV 3C+2C LV Power cables are composed of 3 main cores and 2 cores generally with half of the cross-section area as main cores.
For example, 0.6/1kV 3*70+2*35mm2 power cable,0.6/1kV 3*95+2*50mm2 STA power cables. The two extra cores are used as neutral core and protective ground wire.
And for LV 4C+1C power cable, the core with about half the size of the main cores is used as a protective ground wire while one of the main cores is used as a neutral core, as there may large loop current when short circuit.
So a large dimension core is needed. As 0.6/1kV 4*25+16mm2 power cable and 0.6/1kV 4*50+25mm2 power cables.
