According to NCC Nigerian Communications Commission said, with the continued deployment of the past few years, Nigeria's national optical fiber cable length is close to 40,000-kilometer, which greatly improve the quality of broadband Internet connections in the country.

However, said Professor Umar Danbatta, current fiber optic cable deployment is concentrated in the capital and port and other major cities and regions, infrastructure problems such as unbalanced development are still outstanding.
The future, Nigerian authorities will plan through the existing power grid, road, path, laying fiber-optic cables, connect more areas of the country, especially in the rural areas to further reduce the cost of Internet access, improve the quality of connection.
