On Sunday, the mobile phone connections in the east and west of Libya have been severely disrupted, which is due to the marine cable and land type cable were critically disabled in the two regions in same time.
Libya’s Deputy Minister of Communications Mohammed Belras Ali said the underwater cables between Homs and Misurata were damaged because of unknown climate resaons. Meanwhile, the land type cables between the two regions were impaired because of the road maintenance of Zlitan.
Ali revealed to Libya Herald that the line maintenance team has arrived the damaged area at the first time to repair the land type cable, will be restored within hours. In addition, the maintenance ship has arrived the Homs port to repair the marine cable, the work is expected to complete within 24 hours.
