Researchers at the University of California, San Diego, have been demonstration for enhanced data transmission in long distance optical fiber cable and method of eliminating crosstalk interference. This means no need for expensive electronic regenerator to maintain signal stability.
The results of this study will lead to faster and cheaper transport networks, especially in long distance international submarine cable.
Demonstration of this research by using a frequency comb as a similar coordinated conductor. Frequency comb for variations in the frequency of synchronization between the different optical information flow, and thus advance compensation crosstalk, and crosstalk interference will be eliminated.
The demonstration results show that the research team can make the transmission enhanced 20 times, creating a new record in the 12000 km fiber optic cable data transmission. The data remains intact at the other end, which are not used in the case of a repeater, which is only used in the case of standard amplifiers.
