Portugal Madeira regional government recently on connecting Lisbon and Fortaleza EllaLink submarine systems to seek € 20 million EU funding.
According to reports, EllaLink system connecting South America and Europe, an important submarine cable will connect Fortaleza and Paul to the port of Sines in Portugal, total length of nearly 5800 km route Portugal Madeira region. In addition, the system will Guiana, Cape Verde and the Canary Islands by the Spanish branch connection method.
The submarine cable system total cost of about $ 250 million, of which Spain IslaLink shares accounted for 45% of Brazil's state operator Telebras telecommunications infrastructure accounted for 25% of shares, the remaining 20% held by another Brazilian companies or institutions.
