Viking Link, a UK-based HVDC transmission system linking the UK and Denmark, has launched a tender exercise on Tuesday, February 17, 2017. The deadline for submission of tenders is February 17, 2017.
The tender includes the design, construction, procurement, construction, installation, testing, commissioning and operation of the Viking Link HVDC system.
The Viking Link is a submarine HVDC system connected to the UK and Denmark, with a total length of about 760 km, with a submarine cable length of about 630 km, and all other land-based cable laying to further reduce the impact on the environment.
The Viking Link submarine HVDC system has a transmission capacity of 1,400 megawatts. At the same time in Denmark and the United Kingdom will build a converter station. The construction of the system will further strengthen the clean electricity trade between the two countries.
