Vietnam Electric Power Group is investing six of the 10 subprojects in accordance with the Ningxia nuclear power project approved by the government on March 18.
The project management committee was established in March 2011 to promote the implementation of related projects.
In January 2013, the Vietnam Electric Power Group approved a number of simultaneous infrastructure projects for the development of nuclear power plants.
As of the end of 2014, Ningshun nuclear power plant 1 water supply project has started, plans to be completed by December 2016.
Other support facilities, including power plant operations and expert centers, 20 hectares of project management headquarters are also beginning to be prepared, is expected to be completed in 2016 to 2017.
The public relations center covers an area of 2 hectares, designed to promote the development of Vietnam's nuclear power, is expected to be completed in 2017 or 2018.
Another focus is on training those who manage and operate power plants, and it is expected that the number of workers in each power plant will be about 1,100.
Vietnam Electric Power Group will continue to work with relevant departments, industry and local institutions to ensure that the project is completed on time.
They will also ensure that the project is safe and stable to promote energy security and national socio-economic development.
Ningshun No. 1 nuclear power plant covers an area of 443.11 hectares, the sea area of 440.57 hectares. Ning Shun 2 nuclear power plant will occupy 380.91 hectares of land and 337.63 hectares of sea.
