Generally speaking, the power cable is mainly broken fault, grounding or short circuit fault, broken wire and ground fault and flashover fault, and so on.
We can determine the type of fault in the power cable according to some of the following methods. Here we need to use the insulation resistance table, we put the insulation resistance meter on the line at the end of a line to measure the insulation resistance of each phase.
1 When the shaking cable has a core or a few core conductors is not continuous, and the resistance to ground, you can determine the broken and ground fault.
2 When the cable to test the cable core or a few pairs of ground insulation resistance, or between the core and the core insulation resistance is much lower than normal but higher than 100 kWh, for high resistance ground fault.
3 When the vibration cable or a few core pairs of ground insulation resistance is high or normal, should conduct a conductor continuity test, and check whether there is disconnection or if there is broken line failure.
4 When shaking the cable core or a few pairs of ground insulation resistance, or between the core and the core insulation resistance of less than 100 kΩ, for low resistance grounding or short circuit fault.
